XUAN ZHOU

DESIGNER

Born and raised in Luoyang, a historical city in China with a rich art culture, and a daughter to two engineers who loved architecture and arts, Xuan effectively grew up with a pen and a sketch book at a very young age. From there, she attended art programs in Europe and ultimately obtained her B.A. at Kansas State University. Her background and life experiences across the world allows her to creatively fuse together traditional eastern culture with contemporary western art in a modern and minimalist manner. She approaches many of her projects as a story-telling experience for her respective clients and businesses while also taking into consideration their budgets, schedules, and expectations.

The creation of Xuan Interior Design was coincidentally a by-product of her and her husband’s (Weihong Zhang) decision to create Blendin Coffee Club, a new and creative coffee club that is now a popular icon in the Houston community. That journey (both the ups and downs) was a rewarding experience that ultimately confirmed Xuan’s decision to form her own studio. Prior to forming her interior studio, Xuan also worked at a number of world-recognized architecture firms including, but not limited to, Gensler, Perkins&Will, and GLMV. During her tenure, she managed and maintained a client portfolio involving Yum! Brands, Siemens, Sempra Energy, ForeFlight, and Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratories.
